An early start for this show, we were to be set up ready for visitors by 9am, whenever that is. I was on automatic pilot all morning. A cloudy start but it soon opened up to a fine and sunny day with thousands there and all seemed to be round us. We were kept very busy, getting busier as the day went on till about 4 when it started to tail off; we packed up and left at 4:30ish.
A very good show, lots of interest in general and several people with a real interest in astronomy, though as always, that doesn't mean that it'll translate into a sustained interest in us.
We were helped by Rhys, who drove home to bring his mounted photographs as I'd forgotten to bring our display ones, Peter, Paul and Elaine, Sandra, Dennis and Vic.
We must have been viewed as an attraction for the show as they wanted to conduct an interview for their website. It's on their site, www.epworthshowradio.co.uk
The sun was very co-operative too, sporting a very large prominence and several smaller ones and both solar instruments worked well and drew the visitors and so did Sandra's Know your Planets game. Photographs by Peter Smith and Paul Booker.
